Director of Engineering and Applied Machine Learning
I’m the Director of Engineering and Applied Machine Learning at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where I lead a multidisciplinary team of Data Scientists, Engineers and Designers called MSK Data Products.
My group is mainly focused on building products that leverage Machine Learning and Big Data algorithms to fulfill MSK’s mission of providing patients with the best care available as we work to discover more-effective strategies to prevent, control, and ultimately cure cancer in the future.
I hold a M.Sc. in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. I’ve worked in academia, founded two companies, one for Clinical Decision Support in Breast Cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease called LINKatu, and another one using Machine Learning for the Interpretation of Next Generation Sequencing Data called Signifikance. I’ve also worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Elsevier Health Sciences, where I developed algorithms for Natural Language Processing.
